Sachuest Point and Beavertail State Park in Rhode Island
A January Rhode Island day trip to Sachuest Point Refuge in Middletown and Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, in search of winter migrating sea ducks. Hoping to see the Harlequins, but there were none to be found. However, several beautiful Common Eiders were around at Sachuest, numerous flocks of Black Scoters were off the coast at Beavertail and a herd of deer grazed the protected areas at Sachuest right along the coast. I can honestly say that I never expected to run into a herd of deer at the shore! The ducks were quite far out, which made for difficult shooting and are severely cropped with reduced quality; however, just happy that I have something to show for the trip!
